About Solomon ID
Solomon ID is a prototype community digital identity registration system designed for the Solomon Islands. It demonstrates how a lightweight, offline-first Progressive Web App (PWA) could be used to register citizens in remote communities where internet connectivity is limited or intermittent.
The app works on any smartphone or computer with a modern web browser. Once installed to a home screen, it works completely offline — allowing a health worker, teacher, or community officer to register citizens without internet access. Registration data is stored securely on the device and can be reviewed later by administrators.
Each successful registration produces a unique digital ID containing the person's details, a photograph, and a QR code that can be scanned for instant verification.
Features
- Works fully offline after first visit
